On Children

The Grants Made Simple Foundation is dedicated to providing K-12 teachers with scholarships designed to enhance their ability to seek and acquire grant money.  These teachers have one common purpose – to positively impact their students’ lives.

“Children are the living messages we send to a time we will not see.” – Neil Postman

The Need

The United States underfunds its K-12 public schools by nearly $150 billion annually. The Century Foundation study,  Closing America’s Education Funding Gaps, estimated the majority of school districts in the country, serving roughly two-thirds of all public school students, face a “funding gap.”

Teachers reported in 2020 that, in their efforts to supplement underfunded classroom budgets, they spent an out-of-pocket average of $745/year for supplies to meet their students’ most basic classroom needs.

Allowing teachers to cover these classroom costs misplaces the responsibility of paying for public education. This creates an unsustainable solution and stifles innovative teaching solutions.  We cannot expect teachers to shoulder the cost of reducing deficit funding. Our children and teachers deserve better.

Our Founder's Vision

Our Solution

According to Giving USA, approximately $13.5 billion was offered by foundations, in the form of grants, to educational organizations during 2020.  The catch – teachers must possess the skills necessary to write grant proposals in order to access these billions.

The Grants Made Simple Foundation provides teacher training scholarships that equip educators with grant writing skills to secure these grant dollars, which are required to address students’ critical educational needs. With their new skill set, teachers can identify and access sustainable funding sources for years to come!

How You Can Help

Your donations help support our foundation’s work of providing training scholarships to K-12 teachers for them to develop skills necessary to write award-winning grant proposals.

Their proposals bring in grant money that provides high-quality educational field trips, creates exciting learning environments, pays for guest speakers, stocks classroom libraries, provides inclusive and accessible programs, purchases updated curricula to support STEAM, buys state-of-the-art learning technologies, and brings increased creativity and excitement into classrooms!

Please help teachers get the skills they need to generate new revenue streams through grant writing.
